Hello, and welcome to Nevin Katz Tutoring. My name is Nevin, and I have enjoyed tutoring students in science, math, test prep, and other subjects for the past 15 years. While I specialize in tutoring high school students, I have also worked with students at the Middle School, College, and Graduate School levels. I also have successfully prepared science and math teachers for their MTEL exams.
Most students come to me seeking assistance with Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Math, and AP Computer Science. As I have deep experience with Earth and Environmental science, I also tutor students in these areas when needed. Additionally, I help students prepare for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science, and Calculus AP exams.
Additionally, I am available for writing coaching as well as tutoring in Humanities, such as History and English. With each subject, I focus on helping students develop effective study habits that improve performance.

A significant part of my work has involved preparing students for standardized tests, such as the ACT, SAT I & II exams, PSAT, SSAT, and ISEE. I also prepare teachers for the Science and Math MTEL exams. My general approach is outlined on my Test Prep page.
I live in Arlington, Massachusetts and am available to tutor either remotely via Zoom or in-person if you you live in Lexington or Arlington. While most of my students have lived in Massachusetts, remote tutoring allows me to work with students in other states as well, such as Virginia and Rhode Island, as well as internationally.
