Remote versus In-Person

Given COVID-19 concerns, in-person sessions require the student and family members to be vaccinated.

Pre-Payment

Pre-payment is required no later than 24 hours before the next session.

We will need to call you to re-confirm the session if we have not received your pre-payment.

Payments can be made by Zelle to nevin@nevinkatztutoring.com (Nevin Katz Tutoring, LLC) and by Venmo to @Nevin-Katz.

Payments can also be made via ACH transfer, and directions can be provided during the scheduling of a session.

We do not accept mailed payments at this time.

Refund limitation for prepaid sessions

Sessions must be cancelled at least 24 hours in advance via email only.

Pre-payment for the next session is refundable only if you cancel at least 24 hours before the session by email to nevin@nevinkatztutoring.com. (Email assures a timestamp).

Pre-payments are always for a specific date, time, duration and place.

Cancellation

"Cancellation" includes any change to the date, time, duration or place, for any reason.

Why a pre-payment with a refund limitation? Reserving a slot means that the slot can no longer be accessed by other students, so holding that slot entails a financial commitment.

Our cancellation policy pertains to all sessions, including home, library, Google Hangouts, FaceTime, Zoom and Skype sessions.

Changing your appointment

“Change” includes cancellation, postponement, re-scheduling, starting late, ending early or changing the location.

Starting Late or Ending Early

If the student arrives late or has to leave early, the session is still charged in full.

No charge if you give us 24 hours notice — by email to assure a timestamp. We require notice by email.

Changes with less than 24 hours notice

Cancellation with less than 2 hours notice for any reason other than hazardous driving conditions will be charged in full for the originally scheduled time.

If you cancel a session with less than 24 hours notice, but more than 2 hours notice, the charge will be $80.

If we cancel a session with less than 24 hours but more than 2 hours notice, for any reason, including emergency, but excluding hazardous driving conditions, you will receive one “cancellation credit,” meaning: if you cancel one subsequent session with less than 24 hours notice but more than 2 hours notice, there will be no charge.

Hazardous Driving Conditions

In the event of hazardous driving conditions and a face-to-face session, either I or the student may cancel with less than 24 hours notice, and there will be no charge. If it is mutually acceptable to all involved, a remote session can be scheduled for the same amount.
